Game Organization & Participation Guidelines

The goal of our games is simple: include as many players as possible while keeping the games fun, organized, and free of altercations.

Over the past year, interest in our games has grown significantly. In the past we sometimes struggled to get enough players in winter for 3v3 or 4v4, but now we regularly reach 22 players even on Mondays and Wednesdays. Fridays and Holidays tend to be our most popular days and that is why we play at the bigger field at William Griffin for those days.

To keep things enjoyable and organized, we’re introducing the following guidelines.

  1. Sign-Up Requirement

    All players must sign up on Teamer before 12:00 PM on game day.

    Players who arrive without signing up will need to register on Teamer and wait for the next game. Exceptions may be made if fewer than 22 players have signed up.

    • You are only guaranteed a spot if you sign up on Teamer
    • If you show up without signing up and we’re full, you won’t be able to play
    • This also keeps us within our insurance limit (max 25 players)

  2. Player Eligibility

    • Players must be 19 years or older (insurance requirement).
    • Men and women are welcome.
    • Players should have basic soccer ability — understand the rules, be able to control and pass the ball, and be reasonably mobile.

    Absolute beginners should seek beginner sessions before joining these games.

  3. Number of Sign-Ups

    There is a cap of 22 players who can sign up for game days on Teamer. This is to maintain games that do not exceed 11-a-side.

  4. Kickoff & Main Game

    • Kickoff: 12:15 PM

    Please arrive on time by 12:15 PM so teams can be organized efficiently.

  5. Team Selection

    For now, teams will continue to be selected using the captain pick method, as other systems would require significantly more organization.

  6. Late Arrivals

    We understand that sometimes players may have to arrive late due to work or other commitments. No player will be allowed to join in if they arrive after 12:40 PM.

  7. Location

    Locations are subject to change due to field availability. For busy days where we expect to get 22 players (Fridays and Holidays) we try our best to secure William Griffin for our field as this is much bigger than Kirkstone.

    For other days, we are likely at Kirkstone. The invite on game day on Teamer will have the correct updated information. Please make sure to check carefully or message Andrew if unsure.
